THE ROAD TO CRANLEIGH 2027 BEGINS!

Come behind the scenes with us as we build the 2027 show.

The 2026 show may only just be over, but we are already looking ahead to Sunday, 1st August 2027 !

What goes on behind the scenes when you’re putting together a show?

Well… quite a lot!

Over the coming months, we’re going to take you behind the scenes of the Show and let you see what really goes into creating the day you know and love.

🎪 What are we planning for 2027?
🐄 What new attractions are we looking at?
🎠 What are we hoping to bring back?
🌾 What happens behind the scenes?
🤫 And what are we keeping secret for now?

One of the first things on our list is entertainment for the arenas. The really good acts and attractions get booked surprisingly early, so we are already looking at what's available and starting to put together an entertainment programme that will make next year's Show something really special.

We want the arenas to be full of action, excitement and things to watch throughout the day – so plenty is going on for everyone, whatever your age.

Behind the scenes, we're also finalising the accounts from this year's Show. Once those are wrapped up, we'll be able to properly turn our attention to the planning and budgeting for 2027. Running an agricultural show is a year-round job, and there is an enormous amount that happens long before the gates open!

Keeping the Showground in shape:

The Showground itself is also getting some much-needed attention.

Repairs and treatment have started in various areas, and we're checking everything carefully to make sure the site is in good shape for next year's event.

The footbridge is being repaired, and fencing around the Showground is being checked, with repairs carried out wherever needed. One job already underway is our footbridge over the ditch.

Over the years, the original bridge has inevitably become rather worn and tired, so for this year's Show we put a temporary scaffolding bridge in place to make sure everyone could get safely across.

The scaffolding has now been removed, and we're looking ahead to something much more permanent. The footbridge is going to be rebuilt, ready for future Shows, giving us a safer and more robust crossing for visitors, exhibitors and everyone who uses the Showground.

It's one of those jobs that visitors may not necessarily notice when they come to the Show, but it is all part of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into keeping the Showground safe, welcoming and ready for the future.

And then there's the grass... 🌱

After an exceptionally hot summer, the Showground is looking decidedly brown at the moment! It's certainly not the lush green landscape we would normally hope for, but we're keeping a close eye on it and working on the areas that need attention.

Of course, we can't control the weather – although if anyone knows how to order a little more rain for the Showground, we'd be very grateful! ☔

And this is only the beginning...

There is already plenty happening behind the scenes, and over the coming months we'll be sharing more and more about what we're planning for Sunday 1 August 2027.

Who will be coming? What will be in the arenas? What new attractions might we have? Which old favourites will return?
